Oceanic Yacht Surveys Ltd. is a marine surveying and consulting firm that services Victoria, Sidney, Nanaimo, the Gulf Islands and all points in between from its central location on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
Service to areas further removed can be arranged, recognizing additional time required and travel expenses. Areas frequented by Oceanic also include southern BC and southern Alberta. Costs for service in those areas can be moderated if scheduling is flexible.
International marine surveying qualifications combined with a professional engineering designation and decades of experience on the water allows Oceanic to offer all types of marine surveys including Pre-purchase, Insurance, C&V, Hull and Damage surveys along with accident/incident investigation and claim services. We also survey docks and boathouses.
Additionally, Oceanic’s knowledge and experience can help assess and solve novel problems with your vessel to ensure peak performance. Alternatively, if you are looking for a different vessel, we can help you find it, survey it (of course), arrange for delivery and even provide orientation services. We can also orchestrate moving currently-owned yachts to new locations as needed.

Oceanic Yacht Surveys Ltd. offers a complete yacht purchasing consultant service, in addition to and in combination with marine surveying,
Oceanic has the knowledge and ability to find the yacht you want, determine if this is a yacht worthy of your ownership, add extra strength to your negotiating efforts and provide pre-purchase and insurance surveys.
Oceanic’s service continues with yacht delivery. We can also include orientation for the new owner during the delivery. If additional orientation is needed and/or ongoing yacht management services are required, these are available as well.

Murray Kirzinger of Oceanic Yacht Surveys Ltd. has completed studies of Marine Accident/Incident Investigation through the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS) that provides unique knowledge of the principles and practice required for this service.
